I love books (well duh). I love reading exciting stories, especially in post-apocalyptic genre. Mainly i like to read books as traditional paperback but in recent years i have also introduced myself to the world of Ebooks. And although i still prefer traditional paperbacks and Ebooks can’t get that bookey feeling (at least yet), there certainly are many advantages reading electric versions of books. Let’s check 5 reasons to read Ebooks:

1.They are very portable

I have carried books in my backpack to read them in lunch break. I have also carried Ebooks in my pocket to read them in lunch break. You can easily carry ebook wherever you want and read your favorite book even in events you did not even know you needed one! You have to wait someone? Bus is late? No problem, grab your phone or ebook reader from your pocket and start reading!

2. You can buy them instantly

You know the feeling. You found a must-have book and you want it like yesterday. You check all the local stores. Nope, not one book in stock. But hey, you can always order one and get it in 5 business days! Or you can download the book and start reading in time of getting soda from your fridge. Of course this also has flip side: Your credit card check can be quite horrifying due to all those… easy buys.

3. You can find titles that are not available for you as paperbacks

I love Amazon Kindle of it’s feature of boasting countless indie titles that are just there to find. Services like Kindle are endless treasure chest with countless unread books you have never heard of. Many of them are also paperbacks but many titles can be only ebooks.  One of my favorite series is TW Brown’s Dead series i found as Ebooks. Dead series can also be bought as paperback but the shipping costs would have been horrible to my location. So Ebook it is!

4. Ebooks are cheaper

One advantage is that Ebooks can be considerably cheaper. And you know what that means? More books!

5. You can also read them in the dark

Problem of traditional paperbacks is that you need light to read them and sometimes this can be impossible. But especially if you read books with your tablet or phone, you can read them even in the darkest night without distracting anyone. 

Ebooks have definetly become part of our reading ecosystem. The easiness of downloading content instantly, having your library in your back pocket and having all the latest titles in matter of minutes are definetly great features of Ebooks. This does not mean that we must say goodbyes to our beloved paperbacks. Instead, we should use old and new technology together and take advantage of both worlds. Why choose when you can have both?
